Tweet chats or Twitter Parties are live discussions that take place on Twitter.
If you are an active Twitter user, you may have heard or participated in some of these before.
I see it as one of the ways to take over any hashtag and spread the word allover the different platforms.
A Tweet chat that gets popular can turn out to be a big branding and traffic instruments. As Twitter and many other third party apps have been designed to pick up popular hashtags, your chat hashtag stands the possibility of jumping on the list.
Twitter Chats also educate people
Twitter Parties are not only meant to pull traffic and create awareness. The way they’re run makes it an incredible training event.
The organizers or host prepare a series of questions and each question tweeted will be marked with Q (for Question) and the party official hashtag(s). Participants will provide answers marked with A (for Answer).
Q1: Are job boards important ? #jobboards #jobboard
A1: I got my first paid freelance writing job on eFAAH so yes, they are #jobboards #jobboard
If you leave out the hashtag, your answer won’t be part of the live discussion. So it’s important to always add the official tag to any tweet that’s part of the party.
Every question has a specific identifier. In several cases, it’s Q plus the question number (Q5 for Question 5). Your answer to Question 5 must be marked with A5 as well so everyone knows the question you are answering.
Chat with an expert
Chats are generally on specific topics and for the most part, some industry leaders are invited to answer specific questions and share their experiences.
In this approach, participants put forth the questions and get educated by the guest experts.

Tools you may want to use
There are many tools you may want to pick from. TweetDeck is my most favorite. It allows for columns and hashtag searches. This way, you may want to create a column to monitor and take part in the party:
A tool I have used as well is http://tweetchat.com
It’s quite straight forward. Like TweetDeck, sign in using your twitter account. The screen looks something like this:
In any case, use any tool of your choice that allows you to track the hashtag and easily add to the event.
Drop a comment and let’s know what you think about Tweet Chats.
